If you came across a CV/resume like the one below would you hire this kid? (Btw, in India its usual to give out age and gender and other “personal” stuff unlike India!) But the issue here is the chutzpah of the candidate!
Name: Peter, Sandy, Williams, Fred, Allen, Tom, Dick and Harry (Subject to employer’s choice, although my name is Prabhakar Parsu)
Age: Jeans ‘n’ teens (Am young and wear jeans)
Sex: Prefer thrice a day, but happens only once a week
Gender: Not sure, guess bi-sexual
Family background: Educated, peaceful
Email id: firstname.lastname@example.org
This was apparently sent by one BPO hopeful for his job as this article suggests
And it is not just one or two but kids in droves are sending out resumes like these:
Prabha Vasudev, hiring in-charge at a Bangalore BPO firm, says, “At least 25 out of 100 CVs will have some wacky entries.” And she’s OK with them.———
Nirupama V G, director in HR consulting firm TeamLease, says at least 5% of the CVs it receives fall under this category.
Thankfully for us prehistoric beings the nerds in the IT area are still a bit staid 🙂
“We see this trend even among IT job-seekers, though it is not as common as in call-centres,” says Deepika Padiyar of TVA Infotech.
So next time you think you want to go back to India for the job.. SPICE UP your resume with some whacky stuff!
