An Indian Civilizational Perspective

Cartoon Network in Hindi irks a Pakistani!

A letter to editor in Dawn – a popular Pakistani newspaper.  It shows how worried our neighbors get when they hear anything in the language of the “Infidels”!  That language is anyway related to religion is a strange concept.. but one that is very strongly held by many communities.

If language can make you a lesser Muslim or a Hindu or a Christian.. then it is not a comment on the language but the religion itself.. it must be really fragile one!

RECENTLY, while skipping through the cable channels, I came across the Cartoon Network which is widely being watched by many children in Pakistan. One important thing to notice is that all the cartoons being aired have been dubbed into Hindi. I think one can easily understand where this will lead our children.
