  1. Even a hater of Bollywood films would admit to the fact that the ‘smouldering smooch’ went closest to what one can call “chemistry” in the last few films Ash was seen in, including the ones with Mr Prospective Hubby (making his decision to chop it off understandable). Being without any of her exaggerated eye-rolling or grimacing antics(maybe bcos the camera angle didnt allow it), the scene may be judged one of her most believable, intimate takes on-camera.The scene also captures Hritik’s skills in emoting a tough love situation without over-dramatising.To top it all, this was the climactic scene of a film based on the precarious love-hate relation between the thief-in-love and the-woman-who-could-blow-it-all if she betrayed his love. The kiss was the apt and most natural culmination of the tension that had built up in the “Russian roulette” scene just prior to it and lopping it off would definitely render the film poorer by all means. If this is any indication of where Bachchan Jr wants his would-be wife’s career to head…Well, Ash has all our best wishes…we keep our fingers crossed..

  3. Bonita: Very well said! I agree.. this kissing scene was probably one of the most “credibly” enacted one in the Indian movies. That we cannot stomach it as a society is another issue! Oh well…
