An Indian Civilizational Perspective

Bush pardons himself from war crimes

Someone once said to me that you should have successful friends – because your salary is an average of the combined salaries of your friends. I guess the same works for Intelligence and Integrity Quotient – or your “IIQ” (new term!). For a guy who finds Pakistani Prez Musharraf to be a person of trust and honorable words (CNN . Washington Post), this is the least one could have expected of him to do! His IIQ is descending to make him a dictator. (Link sent by Drew)

Somehow.. just somehow, I sometimes get the feeling that Bush may not go away from Presidentship at all! He might refuse to leave office. And I am not kidding.. there are enough people asking this question (yahoo . Schneider). Now, the ultimate question that nobody is asking: Who and how does one restore democracy in the US? Its Musharrafocracy – for all practical purposes its dictatorship, but its called a democracy! 🙂

Back when Richard Nixon was considering different scenarios under which he could declare marshall law and suspend elections, Dick Cheney was one of his advisers. Odds are, the Bush cabal is exploring the possibility, though I don’t think it will happen.

I’m surprised Bush is limited his pardon to just war crimes. Bush and/or his staff are guilty of so many crimes (exposing CIA spies, illegal wiretaps, etc), he should really be pushing for total immunity!
