Most people are not satisfied with where they are. They would like to move out of their present countries to “greener pastures”.
It seems of all the destinations in the world, US of A is the most desired. 150 million of the world’s adults would like to move to US.
Other desired countries are UK (45 mn), Canada (42 mn), France (32 mn), and Saudi Arabia (31 mn).
Of those wanting to come to US, maximum are from China (22 million), India (10 mn), Brazil (7 mn), Nigeria (15 mn), Bangladesh (8 mn).
There was a time when the Westerners moved all the way in search of opportunities to Asia and Africa. Although their ways were different. Now, when the wealth from these two continents has flowed all the way to West, people of these continents are lining up to get into these countries and seek their own opportunities.
There may come a time, when the wealth may flow the opposite way, if the tenacity of the immigrants remains as high as it is generally.
Distribution of wealth is never a permanent thing. Humanity has not learnt to share it with all, so it keeps juggling between people and geographies, albeit with tremendous loss of life during these movements.
