Reasons Why Hatred, Violence, and Bigotry are the Tools of Indian Leftists

“The Communists say that there are the only two means of establishing communism. The first is violence. Nothing short of it will suffice to break up the existing system. The other is dictatorship of the proletariat. Nothing short of it will suffice to continue the new system.” ~ B.R. Ambedkar

Every dictator and mass-killer who has orchestrated genocides has reiterated this time and time again.  Che Guevara, for example, has become some kind of a “social icon” for the “liberal youth”.   Even in India, it is not uncommon to see t-shirts on the pavement markets with his picture proudly displayed.  In truth, this ultra-hipster icon was a sadist and a violent mind given to genocide.

1Violence and Hatred: Tools of the Communist Struggle

People “love” him because the Cubans love him so much.  And Cubans love him with their life (literally!) is because they are made to love him.  If anyone would just as much show hatred or denounce Guevara during his lifetime – and under Fidel Castro – s/he would be arrested and killed.  Its the law in Cuba!  Imagine having a law where you are forced to love someone or be killed?  No criticism, no word against.  Just love.  Forced love.  Or execution.  Well, that sounds very much like an Islamic regime with Mohammad being their Che.

Che’s lifework was built on his love for hatred.  For, it propelled one to violence.  Which was essential for dictatorship of the poor.  As oxy-moronic this is, it is something that every one has bought for decades.

“Hatred as an element of the struggle; a relentless hatred of the enemy, impelling us over and beyond the natural limitations that man is heir to and transforming him into an effective, violent, selective and cold killing machine.” ~ Che Guevara

Behind the calls for “Equality and Freedom” of the Leftist creed lies the world of Violence, Hatred and Dictatorship.

“Just as Jacobin Paris had Louis Antoine de Saint-Just, revolutionary Havana had Che Guevara, a Latin American version of Nechaev, the nineteenth century nihilist terrorist who inspired Dostoevsky’s The Devils. As Guevara wrote to a friend in 1957, ‘My ideological training means that I am one of those people who believe that the solution to the world’s problems is to be found behind the Iron Curtain.’…He was a great admirer of the Cultural Revolution [in China]. According to Regis Debray, ‘It was he and not Fidel who in 1960 invented Cuba’s first corrective work camp,’ or what the Americans would call a slave labor camp and the Russians called the gulag.” – said the French historian Pascal Fontaine

2Marxist Cues for Hatred of India and Hinduism

When you listen to the Indian “intellectuals” who have been making the argument that before the Mughals and British came, there was no “India” – never mind that Alexander and Christopher Columbus wanted to come to India and not Punjab or the Cholas – do you wonder where they got that idea from?  Well its from Karl Marx’s really half-baked commentary on India.

Hindostan is an Italy of Asiatic dimensions, the Himalayas for the Alps, the Plains of Bengal for the Plains of Lombardy, the Deccan for the Apennines, and the Isle of Ceylon for the Island of Sicily. The same rich variety in the products of the soil, and the same dismemberment in the political configuration. Just as Italy has, from time to time, been compressed by the conqueror’s sword into different national masses, so do we find Hindostan, when not under the pressure of the Mohammedan, or the Mogul[4], or the Briton, dissolved into as many independent and conflicting States as it numbered towns, or even villages.

Not only was he dismissive of India as a country, but also of the Hindoos – and aligned the misery of a country under siege from dastardly colonial power to one religion – Hinduism.  He created the popular negatives that Communists use all the time.  Caste System being the main one.

There cannot, however, remain any doubt but that the misery inflicted by the British on Hindostan is of an essentially different and infinitely more intensive kind than all Hindostan had to suffer before. I do not allude to European despotism, planted upon Asiatic despotism, by the British East India Company, forming a more monstrous combination than any of the divine monsters startling us in the Temple of Salsette.

The Salsette Island was the island on which Mumbai today stands.  In an excavation in the late 18th century, 109 Buddhist caves were found.  The “divine monsters” that Marx is talking about come from those temples.

3Russian and Chinese Manufacture of Leftist Elite and Their Agenda

We saw in an earlier post, how Leftist Intellectuals are manufactured by the Russians (and Chinese).  The free jaunts, the media lift off and backup, the propaganda material and services from the masters, have all been part of the game.

An indepth reading of this declassified document –  Indian Communist Party and the Sino-Indian dispute – will clearly show to anyone how the Chinese dictated the actions of the communists in India.  Every move, every decision and every articulation of the various stands were cleared and vetted by the Chinese.  It was not uncommon for Indian Communist leaders to send communications to their own comrades via the Chinese consulate.

That is why soon after the China war, Comrade Jyoti Basu stood at a rally in Calcutta to declare “China cannot be the aggressor”, blaming “Indian leadership’s intransigence” on the boundary dispute and the resultant provocation to the Chinese for attacking India.  These extracts will bring out clearly as to why the Indian leftists have always spoken a “foreign language” when it came to Indian interests at home and abroad!

Chinese Communist Party Guidance to Leftists in 1960-61

The Intellectual Battle Against the Indian Armed Forces: At the vanguard of the campaign against the Armed Forces by the so-called Intellectuals have been the leftists in India.  Their actions of going against the Indian armed forces was honed before, during and after the Indo-China war of 1961.  It was during this was war that the CPI members including Harkrishan Singh Surjeet and Jyoti Basu were arrested because radio sets were found in the Calcutta office which were used to communicate with Peking.  Also, Jaipal Singh was given the task of infiltrating the Indian Army by the Chinese, which he was doing. (How Indian Communists committed Acts of Treason against the Indian state)  Interestingly, one of the tasks of these CPI members including the “intellectuals” backed by them and China was to attack “specific groups like  Praja Socialist and Jan Sangh parties”.  (Please check this now declassified document from CIA – Indian Communist Party and the Sino-Indian dispute)

After the war, the battle-lines within the CPI were clear.  Pro-China and Pro-India.  The so-called stalwarts of the communists in the recent years – EMS Namboodripad, Jyoti Basu, HKS Surjeet – were in the Pro-China camp.  The perfidy and treason was open and public.  Their rise to power in the highest echelons of power in India – without broach!

At a CPI National Council meeting held on April 11, 1964, 32 Council members walked out in protest, accusing Dange and his followers of “anti-unity and anti-Communist policies”.

The leftist section, to which the 32 National Council members* belonged, organised a convention in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh July 7 to 11. In this convention the issues of the internal disputes in the party were discussed. 146 delegates, claiming to represent 100,000 CPI members, took part in the proceedings. The convention decided to convene the 7th Party Congress of CPI in Calcutta later the same year.

Marking a difference from the Dangeite sector of CPI, the Tenali convention was marked by the display of a large portrait of the Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong.

At the Tenali convention a Bengal-based pro-Chinese group, representing one of the most radical streams of the CPI left wing, presented a draft programme proposal of their own. These radicals criticised the draft programme proposal prepared by M. Basavapunniah for undermining class struggle and failing to take a clear pro-Chinese position in the ideological conflict between the CPSU and CPC.

The 32 were P. Sundarayya, M. Basavapunniah, T. Nagi Reddy, M. Hanumantha Rao, D.V. Rao, N. Prasad Rao, G. Bapanayya, E.M.S. Namboodiripad, A.K. Gopalan, A.V. Kunhambu, C.H. Kanaran, E.K. Nayanar, V.S. Achuthanandan, E.K. Imbichibava, Promode Das Gupta, Muzaffar Ahmad, Jyoti Basu, Abdul Halim, Hare Krishna Konar, Saroj Mukherjee, P. Ramamurthi, M.R. Venkataraman, N. Sankariah, K. Ramani, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, Jagjit Singh Lyallpuri, D.S. Tapiala, Dr. Bhag Singh, Sheo Kumar Mishra, R.N. Upadhyaya, Mohan Punamiya and R.P. Saraf.

Conclusion: When History Stares in Your Face, And Present Pokes in Your Eyes, the Future will Rip Your Heart

When we look at the violence that has been historically perpetuated by the communists globally and in India – read Kanhaiya Kumar’s Azaadi and Leftist Freedom Vs History of Leftist Repression and Genocides.  And, then we look at what the intellectual and substantive foundation of that ideology really is, we see two factors staring us in our face: Violence and Dictatorship.

Despite the claims by the leftists of a “people’s movement”, isn’t it obvious by now – after the Soviet and Chinese genocides and gulags – that the “people” are canon-fodder and power is with the elite few?  Who ruled China when mass genocide of 65 million people happened?  How many of the people – 65 million of them – chose and ruled for their death?  Or was it the writ of Mao?  What about the writ of Lenin?  Che Guevara in Cuba?

The question is not what the history of Communism and Leftist rule says.  The question is how big a genocide of the poor needs to happen before we look into the eyes of the Leftists and tell them the truth!  That there are NO people in a Communist State.  Either Followers or Rulers.  And in that equation, the latter Kill – in large, unimaginable numbers – and former get killed, jailed and tortured.  All the crimes of torture and genocides are done for the good of the people who die.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. – CS Lewis.

The ideologues of the movement announced it in unambiguous terms.  The practitioners demonstrated at unimaginable scale.  The suffering and death reigned through brute force in every society of the ideology possible.  And goes on till today.  Go check in Tibet.  Or in Kerala.  If past cannot warn us, if the present cannot wake us, the future will be the preserve of the hellish cold of death.

Are we ready?

  1. Well, you must know then – what is Hindu is not necessarily national.
And just like another hysterical anarchistic syndrome affected individualist, the author has come up to be a “just” critique of Che Guevara. Was Kennedy sucking a candy bar during the Vietnam War? Che’s sacrifise for his people is beyond your capability of understanding it. Why did the CIA kill him : to have fun, huh? Also, application of Marxism, full and complete is somewhat of an utopia.Nationalism has worked so well in these years after freedom that we keep producing billionaires and beggars at the same time.

  2. Interestingly, your examples were not Indian.
And, you neglected to include the slew of Rightists who employ exactly the same concepts.
I think you miss the point- its the totalitarians who employ these techiques, whether from the right or the left. (I’ve not seen them in the middle.)
And, when the Indian government fails many (most?) of its citizenry, then folks will believe almost anything else will work. (That’s true for any government, not just India. Look at the folks who believe that Trump is a viable anything.)

    1. Hi Roy – the Leftists in India are inspired by Marx and Mao. That is why the main party is “Communist Party of India (Marxist)”. Communism is an import from outside India. The declassified CIA documents clearly show how the Soviets and Chinese were in bed with the Indian Communists – even during the run up to and during the Indo-China war. So, to understand the minds of Indian leftists, we have to understand the contours of their inspiration. As for just the leftists in India, I have addressed their perfidious work many times on this blog. You may want to check that out.

For those who aren’t from India, extrapolation of the American “Left and Right” definitions to Indian context is very easy, but its lazy work. Because there is an inherent difference between Eastern Spiritual traditions – Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism fall in that category – and Abrahamic Belief systems. The latter are belief systems while Eastern traditions aren’t. It is ok to aspire to be a Buddha or a Krishna. Because it is not a function of body and thoughts but of consciousness. In Abrahamic world, there is a creed/way/person that needs to be adhered to. Any deviance is punished with death, nay genocide.

When Jews and Zoroastrians were persecuted in years when Christians/Romans and Arabs attacked/killed them, the ONLY place they could live in peace and harmony was India. And it was because of the Hindu ethos. To understand it better, please see that India and Pakistan are probably the largest Sociological Experiment laboratory that have existed in mankind’s history. Same DNA, same traditions, same arts/poetry/music, same ways and one difference took both on a completely different trajectory.

I plan to discuss the myths and rhetoric that is used by the leftists who work with the evangelists and Islamists to target the Hindu organizations. As per the declassified documents, that was one of the covenants of Chinese support to the Communists – to run down RSS and other Hindu organizations. Of course, with the backup of the compliant media. In a subsequent article, I will discuss these myths in detail. If you want to discuss anything with me offline, please feel free to contact me with any questions.

As for Indian government failing – yes, many governments had. In another article I have listed the work of this government which will have a long term impact.
