Walking past my dream

By Desh - Posted on 29 October 2009

Does it ever happen to you that you are face to face with your dream for which you have covered large distances.. climbed tough mountains and fasted? And then you come to that dream as it stands right in front of you and you quietly pass it by. Not because you don't want it or need it anymore but because you feel you should have a better .. more fulfilling dream! There is a power in challenging yourself to give up what you held most dear until then.

Without going into my specific dream, I can tell you that there is a lot of power in that act. We can all trample upon happiness of others and be selfish because we want to get to a certain outcome. But in the end, it is about the journey. Destinations, however desired and sought after never take you a step forward. Destinations cannot be journeys. LIfe is a journey and not a destination. No matter where we reach, we will have to move on thereafter.

I am a incorrigible dreamer and dreams help me get up in the morning, not enrich my sleep. I become alive when I dream. Yet, I have now realized that dreams and not their fulfilment is what drives me. No matter what I lose or what I leave off, I cannot stop dreaming.

So, until I sleep forever, I will keep getting up in my life powered by dreams... and walking past them when I get to them face to face.
