Google Street view catches a Frenchman peeing in his garden

Peeing in his Garden

Google can track everything you do online through its vast network of tools and sites.  A guy in France learnt that even offline he can’t escape Google!

A Frenchman is in a fix.  The guy was peeing in his own garden – crazy spot to do so – when the Google’s Street view cameraman came calling.  Google Maps has a street view, where the pictures of the houses are shown.  These pictures represent a point in time.  And the Frenchman’s time was when he was in full view.

He lives in a village where everyone knows him and he came to know about the picture from the people around him who immediately recognized him and he had already become a laughing stock!

The slightly blurred photo, seen by AFP, shows an individual relieving himself in a garden in the village in the west-central Maine-et-Loire department.

His lawyer,  lawyer Jean-Noel Bouillaud, is now suing Google for breaching his client’s privacy.  The lawyer and his client are also demanding that Google remove the picture right away.  Although Google doesn’t think much of the law-suit, but Europe is known to be strong on privacy cases, specifically by Google.

France’s data privacy regulator imposed a record fine of 100,000 euros ($142,000) on Google last March for collecting private information while compiling photos for the service.

Moral of the Story:  Don’t take Google for granted, not even offline!
