I am worried that it is probably being undertaken for political gains and under certain ideology but hope it creates the awareness. THE AIM of ‘Jago! Dilli Jago’ is to involve the people of Delhi and make them aware about the various dangers being faced by the river Yamuna. The fourteen-day long awareness campaign (Yatra) is a move to protect the river by involving the stakeholders directly.
Former Prime Minister V P Singh will launch ‘Jago! Dilli Jago’ from Samta Sthal, on October 25. The occasion will be marked by Jal Abhishek and participants will take oath and perform a Parikrama at Rajghat.
The Yatra will than move across the city to make people aware about the ‘Ecological, Social and Environment impacts of the river Yamuna’, informed noted water activist and co-convener, Citizens Front for Water Democracy, S A Naqvi.
