Bishop Franco Mulakkal is a bishop who was ordained in St.Thomas Forane Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Mattom, Thrissur. He is accused of having raped a nun multiple times.

Meanwhile, the person who was raising his voice within the Church, Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, was murdered under suspicious circumstances.
One of the people who has been vociferously speaking against Bishop Franco Mulakkal and has also given a statement to the police against him in the rape case of a nun was found dead in St. Mary’s Church in Dasuya in Jalandhar. Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, who was 62 years old, was found dead on Monday morning. The exact cause of his death is not known yet. Father Kuriakose’s family and other witnesses in the case suspect a conspiracy in his death.
The Bishop was granted bail by the court.
The court, while granting the conditional bail, had directed the bishop to leave the state within 24 hours of his release from the sub-jail.
Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan had also directed Mulakkal to surrender his passport and not to enter Kerala except for appearing before the investigating officer once in two weeks on Saturdays.
Instead of shunning, the Church and his followers gave him a heroes welcome!
Even though the nuns have been protesting against him within the Church, no one has been listening to them. In fact, yesterday they were thrown out of the Church itself!
In order to isolate the nuns, the Church has ordered their transfer. So, four of the five nuns who were fighting for the nun who was raped have been asked to leave the Kuravilangad convent and to return their previous content assigned by the Missionaries of Jesus.
Remember these nuns – like Sister Anupama have been subject to abuse and heckling by the congregation just because she chose to stand up against this criminal Bishop.
Shocking scenes were witnessed at the St Mary’s Forane Church in Cherthala during the funeral of Father Kuriakose Kattuthara, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances earlier this week. Sister Anupama, who had led protests in Kerala against rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal, was heckled by people and asked to leave from the cemetery. A group of people supporting Franco Mulakkal asked Sister Anupama and others nuns to leave the church premises. Following the incident, Sister Anupama was seen breaking down in tears.
IN a letter which accuses them of nuns of ‘issuing malafide public statements’ and ‘circulating baseless stories’ and that they were working to ‘tarnish the images of MJ congregation by disobeying congregation instructions.” So much for raising voice against a crime of rape.
Strangely none of the so-called Secularists are even saying anything! Why? Is this whole episode not important enough?
