PM Modi announced the successful demonstration of anti-satellite missile (ASAT) capability of India, code named Mission Shakti.  He said:

“In the journey of every nation there are moments that bring utmost pride and have a historic impact on generations to come. One such moment is today,”

Between 11:45 and 12: India time, the Prime Minister addressed the nation on TV, radio and social media.

Anti-satellite missile (ASAT) successfully tested today had been Stalled by UPA! Tested today amidst Anti-Modi hate Campaign by losers from India's opposition! #MissionShakti Click To Tweet

An important message to the nation. Watch. https://t.co/0LEOATgOOQ

In a series of tweets, he laid out the importance of this achievement.

#MissionShakti was a highly complex one, conducted at extremely high speed with remarkable precision. It shows the remarkable dexterity of India’s outstanding scientists and the success of our space programme.

— Chowkidar Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) March 27, 2019

With clear reasons on why Mission Shakti was so special for India.

#MissionShakti is special for 2 reasons:
(1) India is only the 4th country to acquire such a specialised & modern capability.
(2) Entire effort is indigenous.
India stands tall as a space power!
It will make India stronger, even more secure and will further peace and harmony.

— Chowkidar Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) March 27, 2019

The credit for developing this obviously goes to the scientists at DRDO and ISRO.  They have done wonders with this completely indigenous technology work.

Anti-Modi campaign even here!

The opposition, in its continued Modi-hatred campaign, started targeting the PM for simply announcing the success of the mission.  Of course, the claims were made that this was “started” during UPA time, as is the case with every achievement that happens during Modi government.  The issue is not when something was started but when and how it was executed.  A barber can start 12 haircuts in a day, but if he cannot finish even one, he has not really done anything!

The fact of the matter is that in this case, the UPA government had not provided the sanction to go ahead with the program.

IN that, they had stalled the mission, which the Modi Government picked up and completed to full success.  What use are the capabilities of the DRDO scientists, if they are kept in chains?  Modi unleashed them, while UPA had kept them under check – for reasons best known to them.  Or to those whose diktats they follow from outside India.

Here is the interview with the ex-DRDO chief which confirms the reporting from the UPA era.

In any case, those who know the machinations of Congress and their minions in media, know the truth and do not need any clarifications from the Congress on their “love for India and its security”.

India is the 4th country to do it

In this demonstration, DRDO’s Ballistic Missile Defence interceptor was used, where the missile was launched from Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Island launch complex.  This was being developed as part of the ongoing ballistic missile defence program in India.  Only US, Russia and China have done this before India.

A-SAT

Now, India becomes the 4th nation in this area.  The work on this started a decade back and it was taken seriously since 2012.  Despite the blocking of the program and not providing sanction by the UPA government, the scientists have been finally able to develop this capability within the last 4 years in the right earnest.

Let us rejoice this great achievement by the Indian scientists and not get bogged down by the shameful display of hate politics by the Indian opposition parties, because they have nothing else to offer.
