Insightful newsletter of Drishtikone - Issue #60: Arrogance of Ignorance
There is a wisdom in every generation. The generations which created the formidable pyramids, the amazing temples like the Kailash in Ellora or the Delphi in Greece couldn’t have been ordinary people. They must have had some understanding of life and its various mysteries that without the technology, books, softwares, computers, and universities with cutting edge research - they were able to create stuff that even the best today would find hard to replicate.
When some upstart comes and announces that all that was of a false god and so destroys it, there is a level of arrogance that stems from deep ignorance of humanity and life itself. And destroying all that for what? To create a better world? A better level of architecture? A better art? No. Just to assert one’s sense of power.
Mahabharat is a story which opens up the deep flaws and greatness of humanity like a raw wound. It is the history of people who were either too ignorant or too arrogant to not even recognize or handle beings who were truly extraordinary amongst them. One of the greatest beings to have walked the planet was in their midst, yet their arrogance blinded them altogether.
When one’s arrogance and failure to recognize beauty around becomes the reason to destroy the work and the miracle-like scientific achievements of great and amazing generations gone by - then what you give birth to is a large civilizational desert. Where humanity is constricted. Art non-existent, or apologetic. And beauty throttled in dark chambers. What remains is hard, masculine, power-hungry eye-sore of a desert that only breeds barren landscape of sand. Sand, which doesn’t even let the footprints of anyone stay for more than a day. That’s the cost of fanatic arrogance of men.
These three people are the golden flowers that blossom on the creeper named Earth – the courageous, the learned and the person who knows to serve. - the Mahabharat

Hagia Sophia was a cathedral for the Orthodox Christians. After Istanbul’s conquest by the Ottoman Empire, this was converted into a mosque. However, for the last 86 years, due to disputes it was converted into a museum.
Now, as Turkey’s high Court annulled the 1934 decision to convert it into a museum, Hagia Sophia has been converted back into a mosque and has been opened up for Muslim prayer.

Islamic invasions are always accompanied with destruction of the religious and spiritual pilgrimages in any society. Here is KK Mohammed, archeologist, discussing how 40,000 temples were brutally converted to mosques during the Islamic rule in India.
40000 temples were also converted to mosques in a very brutal way in India during medieval times, including Ayodhya temple.

so, what’s new? it’s part of the genesis!
Hubal was a God who was worshipped by the Quraysh tribe in Mecca. Along with Hubal’s idols, there were many others in Kaaba. Access and glimpse of this idol in Kaaba was controlled by the Quraysh tribe. Mohammad fought the Battle of Badr against the followers of Quraysh tribe in 624 AD. Mohammad entered Mecca in 630 AD and he broke the idol of Hubal and other gods of the Quraysh people. The Quraysh temple was converted into Kaaba, the mosque.
The Masked Arab covers this well in Episode 15 of his Islam & ISIS series.

catholic church - tax funding the rape empire
Meanwhile, in United States of America, another religious bigotry is profiting off of common man’s hard earned - and paid - moneys. How tax payers money was used to fund the sins of the Roman Catholic Church.
The U.S. Roman Catholic Church used a special and unprecedented exemption from federal rules to amass at least $1.4 billion in taxpayer-backed coronavirus aid. Most of these millions went to dioceses that have paid huge settlements or sought bankruptcy protection because of clergy sexual abuse cover-ups.
Look at the irony, the chutzpah - the Churches and their clergy first rape the kids and then use the money these people earn and pay as taxes to come out of the legal punishments that are brought upon them!
The story goes on to say that the Roman Catholic Church’s haul may have reached – or even exceeded – $3.5 billion from the COVID relief payments!

------------- Recommendations ------------------
Here are some resources that will be very useful to the readers for different things that they may want to do. I am using these products so I have no hesitation in recommending them.
BOOKS APP: For reading books, listening to Audiobooks, and accessing thousands of documents uploaded by people that are very informative - I use one source: SCRIBD. For a mere $9.99 per month you get access to everything (full length books, magazines audiobooks, and other content) in one go. During my commute, I used it for listening to Audiobooks and also use the documents in there for my work-related research.
WEB-HOSTING: For hosting websites, I am now using Namecheap, which is also used for purchasing domains. Domains are just $8.88 for a .com domain and you can get basic hosting for $1.44 a month to start off with. So, if you have a website idea and want to experiment, using namecheap can be a quick way to do it.

Nilesh Oak - formidable work on Indian history
Indian scriptures needed scientific and logical minds to read and interpret. Very few were available. Either they were devout and not logical or apologetics and not bold enough to take challenges. The Dharmic scriptures - which were history and spiritual maps rolled into one needed focused attention.
Nilesh Nilkanth Oak, a dear friend, is one such person. We have discussed his work for many years now. What he has achieved in ascertaining using hard scientific approaches and techniques is truly seminal and path-breaking. He has rendered the entire effort of the British colonial so-called Indologists, who had characterized the Dharmic scriptures as no more than “myths” completely void. All those Indologists and the colonial revisionists look foolish today. And for that, the work of Nilesh is key. Watch this amazing presentation from a razor sharp mind - Nilesh Oak.
