Lautenberg Amendment – US Law that Grants Asylum to Non-Muslim Minorities

The Lautenberg Amendment, was first enacted as law in 1990.  It was an attempt to enable resettlement of Jews from the former Soviet Union using part of the U.S. foreign operations budget.  The aim was to save thousands of lives and bring them to the safety of the US.

Over the years, this Amendment act has been expanded to other minorities (other than Jews).  Now it includes persecuted religious minorities in other countries, for example Jews, Christians, and Baha’is from Iran.  Specifically Non-Muslim minorities from Islamic countries like Iran!  Non-Muslim minorities being the operative and obvious criteria (using the narrative of those who have championed an anti-India agenda in Congress and the US polity)!

Democrats have championed the Muslims discriminatory Lautenberg Amendment!

In fact, the democrats in the US, who have been at the forefront of the whole “Bash India” campaign were the ones who also championed the Lautenberg Amendment to save the religious minorities from Iran.  Here is a snapshot of the release when it was extended by President Obama and Congressman Adam Schiff was championing the whole thing.

In a speech on July 2, 2019, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal offered Lautenberg Amendment as the solution to handle immigration issues from other countries!

So if you really want to fix the border crisis here’s what you have to do. You have to put money, aid, into Central American countries, something that Trump just cut. Okay? He just cut that. But that’s the number one thing. Number two; you could have a program just like what’s called the Lautenberg Amendment for Soviet Jews continue, Ukrainians have come in through this as well, where you give a specific type of entry visa with permanent status to a particular region that is very troubled. Now, for a person who has championed this Lautenberg Amendment, its quite rich that this hyprocritical woman turns around and starts threatening the Indian Foreign Minister for not meeting her when she wanted to shout at him for exactly the same kind of law!  Quite simply, for this Congresswoman, what is essential for the US human rights is a sin for India!  Go fucking figure that out!!

USCIRF – the champion of Launtenberg Amendment NON-MUSLIM Minorities

And, United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), wa just the other day threatening action against India if the Indian parliament passed the CAA bill.  In fact, the USCIRF was threatening sanctions against India!

Meanwhile at home it is a die-hard champion of the Lautenberg Amendment for persecuted minorities in Iran and other countries!

That, for which it is a champion at home, USCIRF is threatening sanctions on India for precisely that!

Rather being alarmed at the restrictive nature of the act, where Muslims from Iran were specifically omitted, USCIRF was alarmed that minorities from Iran had been denied asylum and sent back!

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) is concerned by recent reports that roughly 100 members of Iranian religious minorities, who sought resettlement to the United States, have been denied asylum and could be returned to Iran where they may face discrimination and persecution.USCIRF

So-called champions of “Justice” and Human Rights

The fact is that Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and many other Democrats who have tried to bash the India for exactly the type of amendment that they have not just backed and voted for but championed all along.  And, this is not a law that is made and forgotten for perpetuity.

Lautenberg Amendment is a law that expires each year and must be reauthorized by the government.  So if Congresswoman Jayapal and her Democratic colleagues are so very worried about such laws, 2020 is a great year to go ahead and campaign to REPEAL the Amendment!  Or include Muslims from Iran for asylum in the United States!  Will Congresswoman Jayapal include Iranian Muslims in the Lautenberg Amendment on the basis of religious persecution for expedited asylums like the Jews, Christians, and Baha’is when it comes for reauthorizaton in 2020?

Will they?

Or will they keep speaking on behalf of their lobbyists?  Wonder who funds such diabolical souls in the US Congress?
