2024 passes into history.

A year that began with an important question - will we be able to save our collective voice?

The journey throughout the months that followed showed us very clearly that the attacks were made on our voice, but we stood defiantly and did not back down.

Two important elections gave some hope. At least for now.

India's election that brought back Narendra Modi for the third time. And the American election that brought Donald Trump for the second time.

One on the promise to keep changing India and its stature with a clear break from the past. A past where entitlement and corruption ruled supreme. A set of regimes and politics where selling India was par for the course.

Second, on the promise of changing the US in fundamental ways. From a violent, war-imposing hegemon that interferes and pours money into regime change operations that are constructed to enrich a few while destroying the world and endangering - and stealing from - the average American.

The new India is taking shape now. Despite the challenges that are trying to subvert the country every day.

You see, the regime change expert - Donald Lu (Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs) was in India in the first week of December.

Meanwhile, the UFO mania has hit the world. Specifically the US. We will discuss this in detail in the new year, but for now, it does point to a significant mystery that refuses to die. It points to a very important set of events unfolding in the next few weeks.

So many astrologers are sharing different predictions for the world and humanity.

Here is one popular one from Kartik Gor. He is a regular speaker on many Indian (and even Pakistani podcasts).

The last one is quite interesting since we have recently seen racist targeting of Indians on X by many Americans. The ferocity of those attacks has been unprecedented. Given that venom and vitriol, his last advice for Indian immigrants in the West seems prescient.

Is it all doom?

Does it mean that it will be all doom and bad for the world?

No.

I see astrology as a map of individual and societal karmic substances. Our karmic structure manifests as the planetary positions in our birth chart. When an astrologer "predicts" based on the birth chart, s/he is basically reading the consequences of our karmic structure, as shown in the birth chart.

The main goal of the spiritual path is to take one through to liberation. After all, if our planetary positions at birth can tether us to one destiny always, isn't it slavery anyway?

What free-will do we have if our birth chart (or karmic substance we brought in this life) decides our today?

So when we talk about liberation or moksha in Hinduism, we are saying that we are now liberated from all the bonds we have created in our different lifetimes. Our karmic substance is no longer relevant. We are liberated from it all.

That is why, predictions are never made for enlightened beings for they have transcended karma.

You can only predict the 'destiny' of those who are hopelessly tied to their karmic substance and can not transcend its bonds.

So, if our collective destinies are so easily predictable, we all must be a hopelessly enslaved global society!

How can that be a good assessment of us all?

If we can raise our collective consciousness, then the things that astrologers say can happen will be avoided.

We can see just a few forces/impacts in the world. The world is far beyond that. There are multiple vectors at work. Eventually, the results are totally different from those of any of the impacting vectors or forces. Like the one shown below.

So, the world in 2025 will not be as gloomy and doomed as some say stars are predicting it to be. Because, I assume that a substantial number of our generation is working to raise their level of perception and spiritual understanding.

Five Thoughts for the New Year

I want to leave all of you with a few suggestions for the new year.

Be with Yourself: During your day, try to spend at least 20-30 minutes with yourself in silence. At the end of this year, you should not look back and count the wonderful people you met and befriended and not find your name in the list.

See Through the Nonsense: Whatever you use to interpret the world is basically what you have gathered through your mind. If you were to set that body of information aside and experience the throbbing life that pulsates through your organs, you would find that you can relate to every piece of existence much better.

Commit to Something Crazy: This newsletter was started on a whim. I was not much of a writer as a kid. So, it was a big leap for me to write every day initially - which I did for a year - and then once a week in such a detailed way. But it has enriched me beyond my wildest imagination.

Take a Road Unknown: Comfortable life sans any turns is a terrible life in the karmic sense. You aren't burning enough of your karma. If experiencing life is what living is about, then have you experienced everything that is out there? If not, then you have wasted this life. When you take an unknown road, you will need to flex yourself, go beyond the comfortable ways, and, above all, experience something new. Do that.

Give Back to the Planet: I don't eat meat because I don't believe I am valuable enough in the larger scheme to take another life. I am indebted anyway for all the damage that my existence does to this planet. If we can give back to this planet something this year, it will be worth living for the next generation.
