The Pakistan Army’s Strategic Culture: Understanding Lashkar – e- Tayyaba

In this talk, Christine Fair discusses the dynamics, ways and structure of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba and how it relates to the Pakistani deep state. She discusses the recruitment and also the Pakistani revisionism that it pushes for a narrative that helps its Army.

Until one understands the links that Pakistan-based and Deep State (Pak Army and ISI) backed Jehadis have with their sponsors and backers, the Army and ISI, in context of the religious and geographic ideologies, one cannot discuss either of them credibly.  And that is why this discussion by Fair is important.

Christine Fair (Associate Professor, Georgetown University Edmund A Walsh School of Foreign Service; Professor Emeritus, University of Michigan) talk and a conversation with Anand Arni, Former Special Secretary, Research & Analysis Wing. Friday, Feb 1, 2019 @ Bangalore International Centre
