It was a packed hall on Wednesday that heard a discussion in which the top military brass of the Quad countries (India, Australia, US and Japan) as well as France participated during the on-going Raisina Dialogue. Among the participants during the discussion on ‘Indo-Pacific: Ancient Waters and Emerging Geometries’ was Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, Chief of Joint Staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces. Later, speaking to Parul Chandra of SNI, Admiral Kano expressed concern about the fact that China was attempting to change the status quo of the South China Sea and was attempting to make it a “closed sea”.
